Research Trajectory: I study how personal and historical crises shape identity, emotion, and well-being through stories of lived experience. My work to date has examined narrative identity, collective memory, and life challenges—including personal crises across adulthood and marital conflict resolution. My dissertation extends this by analyzing how people narrate collective historical crises, highlighting emotion and identity processes. Moving forward, I aim to expand this focus to ongoing sociopolitical conflict and to how emotion and storytelling shape meaning-making across both personal and collective contexts.
